Cosy vibe at Bassin 7

Along the promenade at Bassin 7, Restaurant Ommer has windows overlooking the popular promenade along the basin’s buildings.

Aarhus Docklands has become a popular spot with the Harbour Swimming Pool at Bassin 7 with a wonderful selection of eateries. In the newly built Karéerne ("The Blocks"), Restaurant Ommer is literally on the sunny side. Karéerne are two residential buildings that serve as a transition between the taller buildings and the bustle of the promenade and smaller residences. Of course, at Restaurant Ommer you can sit inside or outside and enjoy life on the promenade.

The restaurant's website promises honest food at a decent price, making it a place for a wide range of clients who want to enjoy well-known dishes. There are places to sit along the facade and in the more intimate area with small booths. But it’s also a restaurant with room for a larger party.

Warm atmosphere

Restaurant Ommer is also characterised by its cosy and atmospheric interior design. It was originally called Surfside and had a different food concept and a more colourful interior. Now, the walls are in dark colours and black Troldtekt ceilings swathe the guests, and the atmosphere is enhanced by candles, light curtains and green plants at the bar, as well as larger plants distributed throughout the space.

Troldtekt ceilings were chosen for their effective sound absorption, which is important for a good restaurant experience. The Troldtekt ceiling surface is also decorated with coloured neon tubes that give the space an edge along with paintings and a wall with a mix of different mirrors. Outdoors, you can sit under the overhang and take part in Aarhus’ new dining street.
